The Air Jordan 1 High GS Patent Bred is the youth version of the black-and-red colorway of the vintage basketball shoe that was released in December 2021. The Patent Bred version of Michael Jordans first signature shoe is based on the models original Bred colorway, the style that first appeared on the Nike Air Ship then Air Jordan 1 in the mid-80s. Both shoes in the Bred colorway were banned from the NBA, and subsequently the centerpiece of Nikes Banned campaigns featuring Jordan wearing the shoe. The Patent Bred puts a modern spin on the look with glossy patent leather instead of the traditional full-grain leather found on the original Bred. Black patent leather appears on the forefoot, eyelets, and mid-panel. Contrasting Varsity Red leather is found on the perforated toe, collar, heel, and Swoosh.
